SAS Web Report Studio enables you to export selected columns from list tables. When exporting to Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel, the document or spreadsheet might be blank. When this problem occurs, the SAS Web Report Studio log contains an error similar to the following:
2012-06-06 11:42:46,976 [http-0.0.0.0-7070-5] ERROR [68f13a58a01f9498:36ac2c09:137beb36ac3:8d4o686081] com.sas.apps.citation.view.tbeans.commands.export.ExportTableCommand - java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid column index. at com.sas.servlet.tbeans.tableview.DefaultTableColumnModel.getColumn(DefaultTableC olumnModel.java:176) at com.sas.servlet.tbeans.tableview.BaseTableView.isExportNumericCustomFormattedVal uesAsText(BaseTableView.java:4682) ...
This problem occurs under very specific circumstances. For example, if you select a mixture of category and measure columns but you do not include the first column, then the export fails. However, if you select a mixture of category and measure columns but you do include the first column, then the export succeeds. In addition, exporting measure columns succeeds regardless of their position in the table.
As a workaround, you can export the results as tab-delimited or comma-delimited data.
